Elwood Apartment

This compact Art Deco apartment in Melbourne’s bayside suburb of Elwood underwent a thoughtful interior update focused on improving functionality, introducing custom storage solutions and creating a warmer, more personality-filled home. While modest in size, the apartment offered beautiful original character and strong architectural bones, providing the perfect foundation for a layered and highly considered interior approach.

Eclectic Creative was engaged to transform the apartment through custom joinery, furniture selection, colour direction and carefully curated styling. The design focused on maximising usability within the compact footprint while ensuring the spaces still felt relaxed, cohesive and visually spacious rather than overcrowded.

Custom shelving and joinery solutions were introduced to improve storage and functionality while enhancing the apartment’s original Art Deco character. Carefully selected furnishings, layered textiles and updated paint colours helped soften the interiors and create a more inviting and expressive atmosphere suited to modern bayside living.

Throughout the project, emphasis was placed on balancing practicality with personality. Sculptural furniture pieces, tactile materials and thoughtful decorative styling introduced warmth and individuality without compromising the apartment’s sense of openness and simplicity.
