Our clients had downsized and purchased a relatively new apartment in the heart of bustling Abbotsford, Melbourne. They described it as your typical, lifeless white box small space apartment and were searching for an Interior Designer who could transform the space to add personality, intertwine their keepsakes and art, as well as custom joinery solutions. We presented a comprehensive decoration concept as well as designing joinery solutions for the main living room wall from solid Tasmanian oak and the spare bedroom adding a tall cupboard and desk space to utilise the space, which is ideal for work from home requirements.
Adding colour, specifically a playful blue grey to the main walls livened the space and finding a tulip table that suited our clients vintage danish chairs, that were reupholstered in a striking orange hue, worked perfectly with the overall colour scheme. We also had our clients vintage Jimmy Possum ottoman recovered in a watercolour pattern velvet that now takes centre stage in the living room as a transitional piece for coffee table, foot rest and extra seating when required in this cosy space.
In the bedrooms wallpaper was added in a whimsical soft pattern, a request from our clients, layers of fun eclectic linen and new linen breezy sheers. Its incredible what the right window furnishing can do to transform a space.
