After years in a character-filled Edwardian home, our clients were ready for a simpler lifestyle—without compromising on beauty or meaning. Their new Yarraville townhouse had great bones but needed warmth, personality, and a focal point. Our clients also had a penchant for Midcentury Modern style which could work perfectly with the industrial style contemporary interior.
At the heart of the transformation is a custom-designed American walnut joinery wall—our midcentury-modern nod that turned a plain white backdrop into a statement piece. Collaborating with a local maker, we crafted this centrepiece to marry form and function, setting the tone for the entire home.
We curated every detail—from a Melbourne-made, modernist-style sofa in a cool blue (echoing the adjacent lap pool), to layers of burnt orange, wool, marble, and polished concrete. Each piece was hand-selected to enhance the home’s architecture and express the couple’s love for modernist design.
This project reflects what we do best: designing with intention, partnering with local makers, and creating layered homes that evolve with our clients.
