This contemporary townhouse in Melbourne’s inner-west suburb of Yarraville underwent a thoughtful interior transformation inspired by the warmth, texture and timeless appeal of midcentury modern design. Eclectic Creative was engaged to introduce greater personality and character throughout the home through custom joinery, bespoke furnishings and layered interior styling that softened the contemporary architectural shell.
The design direction focused on balancing clean modern lines with richer materiality and a more expressive interior palette. Custom American walnut joinery became a defining feature throughout the home, introducing warmth, depth and a strong architectural presence that grounded the contemporary interiors. Polished concrete flooring, tactile textiles and carefully curated vintage-inspired furnishings helped reinforce the midcentury influence while maintaining a relaxed and highly liveable atmosphere.
Furniture and styling selections played an important role in creating cohesion and personality throughout the spaces. Melbourne-made furniture pieces, sculptural lighting and layered colour accents were carefully selected to complement the warmth of the walnut joinery and introduce softness and individuality to the interiors. Deep teal upholstery, burnt orange detailing and natural textures added contrast and visual interest while maintaining an overall sense of balance and restraint.
Custom storage and joinery solutions were thoughtfully integrated throughout the townhouse to improve functionality while preserving the clean and uncluttered feel of the interiors.
