Sandringham House is a charming Edwardian cottage located in Melbourne’s bayside suburb of Sandringham, home to a busy professional couple, their three young boys and beloved orange tabby cat. Having previously consulted on colours and finishes during the home’s renovation several years earlier, Eclectic Creative was invited back to layer the spaces with thoughtfully curated furnishings, lighting, rugs, artwork and custom joinery solutions to help the house feel more resolved, functional and reflective of the family living within it.
The brief focused heavily on improving storage and functionality for everyday family life, while introducing softer and more relaxed interior elements inspired by the home’s coastal location and a subtle contemporary Hamptons influence. Through a combination of bespoke joinery, Melbourne-made furniture and carefully considered styling, the home was transformed into a warm, layered and highly liveable family environment.
Custom-designed joinery was integrated throughout the home to support both practical storage and multi-functional living. This included a built-in home office and study nook, window bench seating, fireplace joinery, dining room storage, a custom bedroom bedhead ledge and a combined television and laundry pantry unit. Each joinery element was carefully designed to feel cohesive with the home’s existing character while improving the overall functionality of the spaces.
A custom Melbourne-made sofa became the focal point of the living area, while layered rugs, decorative lighting and tactile furnishings introduced softness, warmth and personality throughout the home. The overall palette balances relaxed coastal influences with timeless detailing, creating interiors that feel calm, collected and connected to the lifestyle of the family.
Sandringham House reflects Eclectic Creative’s approach to creating homes that balance beauty with practicality, layering thoughtful interior details and tailored storage solutions to support modern family living within character-filled homes.
