Cush and Co
I love tan leather. I love that the colour is transitional, can be pared back with a myriad of colours and interior styles, so when I stumbled across the Tan Brown Moroccan leather pouffe from Cush and Co I knew it would be perfect in my own home.
Our interior style is eclectic (goes without saying really) with a blend of Masculine-Industrial and vintage, one-off finds passed down as family keepsakes and heirlooms. Our base colours in our home are the warmer, brown/neutral tones with a concentration on pieces than can change and act multi-purposely, considering we rent and need them to adapt to each new space we occupy.
I find choosing neutral pieces on your big ticket items, is the best way to go, or choose a colour you absolutely love, and happy to live with for a long time. Budget is always in the forefront of our minds, yet we like to refresh the space we are living in. I find an affordable way to do so is through soft furnishings, such as cushions and throw rugs, so the Turkish towel in dark blue from Cush and Co was a really budget-friendly way of injecting some colour. Yes, it’s a towel, but it makes the perfect, lightweight throw for the hot, Summer months. This tone of blue just works so well with the tan brown – it helps lift the colour and break up all the brown tones we have going on.
The towel moves from our armchair, to the sofa and back again, and the Moroccan pouffe tends to follow. It is the most comfiest addition for our tired feet at the end of the day and I filled it with bed-sheets. It gives it a full, yet soft look, without looking over stuffed.
As you can see tan leather goes so well with black, white and grey and it again, helps to tone down the interior and blend all the colours.
See how the blue helps to lift the brown, neutral tones, and I have added a denim style scatter cushion to compliment the turkish towel. Black and white, in my opinion is always a good idea, and these patterns help to bring everything together.
So to go over the tips: 1. Black and white is always a good idea. 2. Tan leather goes so well with blue (and most colour ways and interior styles). 3. Turkish towels are the perfect lightweight throw in the summer months, thanks to their breathable and soft 100% cotton.
